THE O'DOWDS
Is this off-topic? Absolutely not, because it's family.
The Regan musical blood, via the O'Dowds, is now into its fourth generation. My grandfather, Frank Regan – a renowned fiddle player in Ireland - passed his passion and skills down to his daughter - my Aunt Sheila - then she to her son Seamie, and it's now with Seamie's sons, Stephen and Rory.
Seamie has actually written and recorded a piece called 'The O'Dowds and The Regans'. You can find it on Bandcamp, on his album 'Wood and Iron'. It's a lovely piece.
Stephen is also to be found on Bandcamp, just two songs right now but with another due to be released on or around the 15th of May.
I'm not aware that Rory has any material out there, but he's an accomplished guitarist and bass player, and is a fixture of the band when his Dad plays live, particularly at the Rory Gallagher Festival, held in Ballyshannon each year.
Seamie and Stephen appear in Martin & Roman's Irish Road Trip, which I hear is available to on Virgin Media One and the Virgin Media Player, neither of which I have access to, so I'll have to wait until it's on Channel 4 streaming, later in the summer of 2026, hopefully.
You'll find Seamie and Stephen on Sp*tify, but why go to Sp*tify when you can go to Bandcamp?

In his own words: "I have been writing for longer than most of you have been alive. I started a fanzine in 1976 and wrote for music papers and magazine into the 90's. I've five books on Goth, the first three now on Kindle, and have over 180 photobooks available."
